Remember

"Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, as it is written: 'He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.'"

Lord, when I see this:

and stand there saying, "I have nothing to cook"

There are those who literally have nothing to eat, who themselves are starving to death while simultaneously watching their children die of starvation.

Let me Remember

Lord When I see this:

and my thoughts turn to grumbling

Let me Remember

There are those out there who are longing to do a husband and children's laundy, either because they've never had any or because they were taken too soon.

Let me Remember

Lord When I see this:

and complain because "I have nothing to wear"

Let me Remember

There are those among us who literally have little to nothing to wear, who pride themselves on the one school uniform they own, who would love to have just a tenth of just the 1/2 of this closet shown.

Let me Remember

When my kids complain because they are bored:

and my thoughts to turn to this above

Let me Remember

There are those who will never swing, slide, or climb into a 'fort'. those who will never know what it's like to have a personal playground in their own yard.

Let me Remember

When I see this:

and wish for something bigger, nicer, and in a 'better' neighborhood

Let me Remember

There are those literally living on top of human excrement, in mud shacks, who likely have no concept of what modern living even is like.

When I see these:

and wish for something newer, grumble because I'm 28 and driving a mini van, and complain because of the bird poop that needs washed off the truck

There are those whose sole means of transportation is their feet.
